Your Car Color Reveals Your Personality

If you’ve ever bought a car, there’s a 99.9% chance the color played a role in your decision.

Audi A1: The Luxury City Car

The Audi A1 (internally designated Typ 8X) is a supermini sized economical car launched by Audi at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
Sales of the initial three door A1 model started in Germany in August 2010, with the United Kingdom following in November 2010.
A five-door version, called Sportback, was launched in November 2011, with sales starting in export markets during spring 2012.

The idea behind the A1 is so simple that it’s amazing nobody thought of it earlier.
Essentially, it takes the high-quality interior and prestige badge that have made Audis so popular and puts them in a small, city-friendly package.
Don’t go thinking that you pay a fortune for the privilege of having that Audi badge, either. The A1 is no more expensive than many versions of the VW Polo.

This is a great car for two people, and another two sat in the rear won’t feel too cramped.
However, the boot is really only big enough for shopping bags or small cases.

The A1 is a proper Audi in miniature, with clear instruments, slick controls and materials that are easy on both the eye and the fingertips.

In addition, the Audi A1 is available with everything from a 1.2-litre petrol engine to a 2.0-litre, plus there are a couple of diesel options. However, it’s the 1.4-litre petrols that strike the best balance between fun and affordability.

Even the cheaper 1.4 makes a good sound and has enough punch to whisk you along in breezy style. Meanwhile, the more powerful (and more expensive) version makes the A1 feel properly sporty.
All A1s have responsive, informative steering, too.

Plus they grip well in bends and generally feel much sharper than the average hatchback.

CLIVE COULDWELL: Formula One as it is...

DB9 GT Bond Edition Front Front

DB9 GT Bond Edition Rear Rear

Honestly, things move so fast. I completely forgot to mention that the DB9 GT Bond Edition was released on 2 September with 150 being made.

The 6.0-litre V12-engined grand tourer features special Spectre Silver paint; sterling silver Aston Martin badges front and rear; and discreet ‘007 Bond Edition’ exterior badging.

These features build on the styling of the DB9 GT which includes 10-spoke gloss black diamond turned 20in alloy wheels; bright aluminium bonnet vents, side strakes and grille; carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser, and grey brake calipers.

Inside, the DB9 GT Bond Edition continues its subtle homage to James Bond with unique numbered sill plaques featuring the familiar 007 logo; gun barrel embroidery on the 2+2’s rear seat divider and a special Bond Edition start-up screen on the new model’s AMi II touch-sensitive Aston Martin infotainment system.

These embellishments add to the car’s already luxurious interior environment…

The Mercedes GLA

“The best or nothing”

The Mercedes GLA is a luxury SUV unveiled by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.
It was previously unveiled to the public at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013 as a concept car.
Designed to compete with the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, It slots below the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, renamed GLC-Class from 2015.
The GLA-Class shares its platform with the A-Class and B-Class, with a similar range of petrol and diesel engines.

The measure of a Mercedes-Benz SUV is its well-rounded capability.
So the GLA’s engineers traveled around the globe to cross-train it: 288 sprints around the Nürburgring. 450 Alpine corners, climbing up to 14,000 feet. 1,000 miles at a test site for tanks. The GLA doesn’t just look agile and muscular. The shape you see is the shape it’s in.

Despite the name, drivers tend to expect less sport and more utility from an SUV.
The confident chassis of the GLA does more than its share to set the balance right, and its cockpit follows through. Crisp gauges and precise controls team up for pure driving fun. You’ll still enjoy the GLA’s abundant space.
